Durango

The state of Durango is located in the northwest corner of Mexico, and its landscape is characterized by forest, desert, and the Sierra Madre mountains. Victoria de Durango, the state capital, is home to some impressive examples of baroque architecture, including the Basilica Menor Inmaculada Concepción. Villas del Oeste and Chupaderos, two little communities just outside of the city, have long served as stand-ins for the Wild West in countless movies.
