Hotel zone is protected during the Spring Break Cancun 2022
The security operation is carried out in bars and nightclubs, mainly in Cancun's hotel zone.
Some 300 elements of the National Guard (GN), the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), and the Tourist Police of Benito Juárez are carrying out the Spring Break Cancun 2022 operation, making rounds in bars and nightclubs in the hotel zone.
The operation is joined by the Directorate of the Specialized Group for Attention to Family and Gender Violence (GEAVI), as well as the Civil Protection of the municipality.
The operation began a few days ago with the participation of approximately 300 security elements -in two shifts- who reinforce the police presence to guarantee the safety of thousands of tourists who arrive during this season.
This 2022 spring break season began last March 11 and concludes on April 3, with the arrival of students from Canada and the United States. During the operation, bars and nightclubs, mainly in Cancun's hotel zone, are being patrolled.
The security measures in the nightclub zone consist of constant patrols, foot patrols, as well as traffic control, to guarantee the safety of local and foreign tourists, and two Covid-19 detection filters are also installed.
This mobilization takes place within the framework of the operations of Playa Segura, Círculo Rojo, and reinforcement of Playa Segura, which includes commercial zones and beach areas.
