Huge snake found in hot springs of Las Grutas de Tolantongo

Civil Protection personnel was alerted about the presence of a two-meter ( 6-foot) snake in one of the hot springs pools at Las Grutas de Tolantongo.

Civil Protection personnel of Hidalgo was alerted about the presence of a two-meter snake in one of the hot springs pools of Las Grutas de Tolantongo. On social networks, they shared the image of a boa constrictor that was on the edge of the pools, one of the attractions for tourists.

According to the authorities, during the rainy season, it is common for these snakes to come out of the woods to sunbathe, so they applied safety protocols. According to the personnel, moving the snake to another point far from the site, similar to its habitat, did not represent any problem.

The personnel that attended this event stated that these types of animals are not aggressive, poisonous, or dangerous, however, they commented that it is common for them to roam the site and their size is imposing for people.

On Monday, August 22, the Collective Transportation System (STC) Metro CDMX reported that the Civil Protection staff of the agency guarded a snake at the Boulevard Puerto Aéreo station of Line 1.

Metro CDMX sheltered a snake found on Line 1In a statement, Metro CDMX said that the snake was in one of the corridors of the platform towards Pantitlán, so the personnel of the Banking and Industrial Police (PBI) of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), which performs security and surveillance functions at the site, went to rescue the reptile.

It was also announced that the snake is one and a half meters long and highlighted that it was found in a station that remains out of service due to modernization works for the new Line 1 of the CDMX Metro. Subsequently, the snake was channeled to the Animal Surveillance Brigade of the SSC of the CDMX.
