Mexican riders battled it out at the Global Champions Tour in Mexico City. Hank Guerreiro and Martínez Vázquez impressed but fell short of the podium. Still, Mexico shines as the only Latin American host and riders gain valuable points for the Paris Olympics dream.

The Campo Militar Marte received the most important equestrian circuit in the world within the framework of the international competition Global Champions Tour México 2024, where seven national riders participated as part of their preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This Sunday, 37 riders participated in the initial round, where national riders Carlos Hank Guerreiro and José Alberto Martínez Vázquez had an outstanding start without committing any knockdowns in the obstacles that had a height of 1.60 meters, a result that placed them in the tiebreaker round.

In the next phase, five participants defined the podium, in which Hank Guerreiro and Martínez Vázquez stood out in fourth and fifth place respectively, while Nicola Philippaerts from Belgium won gold, Luiz Felipe Cortizo from Brazil, silver and the Spanish Eduardo Álvarez Aznar won bronze. .

During the competition, the national riders Manuel González Dufrane also appeared, who obtained eighth position, Arturo Parada Vallejo in 15th place, José Antonio Chedraui Eguía in 21st place, Nicolas Pizarro in 25th place and Fernando Martínez Sommer in 35th place.

Mexico is the only country in Latin America that holds an international event of this magnitude, which gives points to the riders and horsewomen in each circuit to make the general total at the end of the season.
