Unico 20º 87º Riviera Maya Hotel and more new hotel openings

Medicinal therapies in a spa, pool parties with renowned DJs, gastronomic proposals, and snorkeling with turtles in the sea, are just some of the activities found at the hotel Único 20º 87º Riviera Maya.

The Único 20º 87º Riviera Maya hotel, named for its location coordinates, offers a new all-inclusive category for adults only, in which luxury is contemplated. The concept shows a contemporary Mexico, without forgetting the culture, which is reflected in its decoration.

Its 448 rooms, all facing the sea, show various handmade details that give the local touch, without losing the modernity that characterizes its design. For fun, the hotel has three pools: La Única with a chill-out atmosphere, 20.87 with pool parties enlivened with Dj's and La Escondida for those seeking silence.

There is a bar with live music, salsa lessons, cooking, mixology, yoga, pilates, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and movie nights, as well as tours outside the property to watch the sunset while tasting wines and cheeses, swim with dolphins, visit Tulum and archeological sites such as Chichén-Itzá, among others.

Gastronomic event

From July 17 to August 25 of this year the Summer Superbia gastronomic event will take place at the hotel, where six different internationally recognized chefs, some of them awarded with Michelin stars, will cook in the Cueva Siete flagship restaurant to their guests.

The Madrid-born Roberto Ruíz from Punto MX, who has 1 Michelin star; from Alicante, Spain, María José San Román chef from Monastrell and with 1 Michelin star; de Madrid, Spain, J. Antonio Medina de A'BARRA Restaurant with 2 Michelin stars; the Mexican Abel Hernández, from Eloise Restaurant, awarded with 5 Star Diamond Award; Californian Daniel Patterson of Daniel Patterson Group, with 2 Michelin stars and Málaga, Spain, Ángel León de Aponiente Restaurant with 3 Michelin stars. Various mixologists and renowned DJs will participate, who will entertain the pools every day.

The kitchen of the gods

Every year and a half a renowned chef is invited to renew the menu and train the staff; Now it's the turn of chef Xavier Pérez Stone, winner of Iron Chef Canada 2014, who created a menu focused on typical Mexican food with a gourmet touch. The restaurants offer everything from haute cuisine dishes to a casual buffet by the beach.

The experience in the Italian Mi Carisa goes from tasting the lobster stuffed ravioli, to a cut of meat to the embers, and for dessert a cheesecake. The dinner at the Cueva Siete flagship restaurant starts with the Frida cocktail made with jamaica and mezcal, and Diego with guava and tequila, to later enjoy a menu with Mexican appetizers.

The Asian Mura House, has a sushi bar, four teppanyaki tables, and a private space for 12 people. The restaurant 20.87 offers a buffet of international food and cuts while watching the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea. During the summer the new terrace of the hotel Único 20º 87º Riviera Maya will be ready, suitable for around 300 people with cocktail tables.

New hotel openings in Los Cabos

The Mexican hotel brand RCD opened last Monday Nobu, focused on travelers who like to enjoy the destination. The 200-room property combines contemporary Japanese minimalism and local Mexican finishes. Inspired by the design of the Japanese aesthetic of the Nobu brand, as well as the elements of Cabo San Lucas, the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos is the fusion of architectural elegance and relaxed luxury.

In May RCD Hotels together with Hard Rock International will open Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos, in Cabo San Lucas, designed with sections for families and adults who prefer to spend their vacations on the property. The 600-room hotel marks the fourth Mexican destination.
