The best sustainable destination in the world is Quintana Roo. This is the municipality of Tulum that was awarded for this achievement in the framework of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2019.

The award was given to the Quintana Roo destination, one of the most internationally renowned of the Riviera Maya, for promoting a tourism development policy friendly to nature and preserving its natural beauty, as a result of the public policies of Governor Carlos Joaquín.

Tulum, as well as being a sun and beach destination, stands out for being part of a millenary culture that builds its future without forgetting its origins, roots, and traditions.
