Sustainable Tourism Expo will celebrate its X Edition in Cancun

On June 24 and 25, 2019, the tenth edition of the Sustainable Tourism Expo will be held in Cancun, it will be a very special one, celebrating 10 years as the most important platform for the sustainable supply of national tourism sector.

Sustainable Tourism Expo will gather, as every year, interested parties and experts in the environmental field, buyers who seek to bring new products and proposals to their companies to achieve the standards that today's tourism demands and are priorities for.

The event will be attended by our strategic partners, exhibitors, sponsors, and friends who have joined this project to consolidate it as what it is today, the only EXPO focused on sustainability in tourism and an important reference for the public and private sector dedicated to issues of ecology, green economy and corporate social responsibility in the country.

History

The project was born in Tulum Quintana Roo when it began to detonate as what is today the Eco Chic destination of the Riviera Maya. In Casa de la Cultura and with important actors in the development of Tulum, a first edition was carried out that undoubtedly had more future than the present.

With an annual growth of exhibitors and visitors and after four years of holding the event in the municipality of Tulum, the Grand Palladium hotel of the Riviera Maya joins as a strategic partner to consolidate the event as an important national forum is where the participation of SECTUR was achieved for the delivery of the Distintivo S to tourist companies in the country and the alliance with WWF for the design of an excellent program of conferences.

In 2013, EarthCheck granted the Sustainable Tourism Expo as a Responsible Event, being the first event to obtain this distinction in Mexico. With the Travel Foundation, an organization from the United Kingdom, we worked on the Commitments for Conservation, managing to link exhibiting companies with community projects in Quintana Roo, such as vermiculture or the melipona bee.

After celebrating the Sustainable Tourism Expo in the Riviera Maya for 3 years, the event joins the Social and Sustainable Tourism Summit in its first edition in 2017 and they share headquarters to celebrate the eighth and ninth editions at the Cancun Center, were carried out important business meetings and links of 40 exhibitors with the best in green technology, ecotourism, experts in ocean issues, sustainable architecture, biodegradable products, permaculture, and community projects with more than 500 visitors, especially from hotels and tourism companies of the country that seek recognized and quality environmental solutions.
