Olvera and Celaya Snag Diving Silver at World Cup

Mexico's Osmar Olvera and Juan Manuel Celaya secure silver in synchronized 3-meter diving at the FINA Diving World Cup in Xian, China. Despite strong performances from Viviana del Ángel/Alejandra Estudillo and Kevin Berlin/Randal Willars, China dominates the competition.

Divers Osmar Olvera and Juan Manuel Celaya obtained the silver medal in the synchronized 3-meter event corresponding to the Super Final of the World Cup taking place in Xian, China, after adding 420.81 units.

The first place on the podium went to the hosts, Zongyuan Wang and Daoyi Long with 474.75 units, while the bronze remained in the hands of Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding of Great Britain with a score of 403.89, in the event organized by the World Aquatics, an organization world leader in aquatic sports.

On their way to the podium, Olvera and Celaya left scores of 49.20 and 48.60 in their mandatory jumps, while in the free jumps they recorded 76.50, 82.62, 85.50 and 78.39 in each of their rounds.

In more results of the Mexican delegation in the international competition, Viviana del Ángel and Alejandra Estudillo finished in fourth position in the women's 10-meter synchronized event, while in the men's branch, Kevin Berlin and Randal Willars finished in fifth position.

The activity of the Mexican team will continue this Saturday with the individual preliminaries in the men's 3 and 10 meter branch with the participation of Osmar Olvera on the springboard and Randal Willars on the platform.
