The Mexican delegation added another member for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, after the official qualification of paratriathlete Martha Alicia Verdín Cedeño in the table tennis discipline, category TT 4.

The player, originally from Ameca, Jalisco, won her first ticket to the summer competition via world ranking, which was announced by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

“It is a great satisfaction, a great happiness to have achieved my first pass to the Paralympic Games after so many years of training, competitions and struggle, finally I was granted the desire to qualify,” she shared.

Martha Verdín, bronze medalist in the Parapan American Games Santiago 2023, assured that her upcoming debut in Paris 2024 is a reward after overcoming health complications.

“After two years complicated by health issues, thank God everything has gone well; I feel very well, and I am happy to be able to represent Mexico once again, but now at another level in the Paralympic Games”, she detailed.

Verdín Cedeño's place for the great competition in the 'City of Light', joins the one obtained by paratriathlete Claudia Pérez Villalba after her championship in the continental competition of Santiago 2023.
