Undoubtedly in every vacation season, but mainly during Easter and Summer vacations, beaches are one of the main vacation destinations, and of course, that includes destinations such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and more. The beaches of Quintana Roo are known for the beautiful turquoise color of the sea, its fine white sand, and spectacular warm weather most of the year.

However, something that both tourists and local visitors often ignore before getting into the sea, are the colorful flags that are on the beaches and not just as an ornament. That is why before diving into the sea remember to look at the flags that are on the beach because they indicate the conditions of the water.

What do the colors of the flags on the beach mean?

Black flag: Closed beach or presence of "bad water".
Red flag: Prohibited entering the sea.
Yellow flag: Enter with caution
Green flag: Safe beach

It is important to follow the recommendations of the colors and avoid entering the sea if you are a person who does not know how to swim or does not have experience in the open sea.
