A man who was walking through the streets of Valle de Chalco carrying a human head inside a backpack was detained by elements of the Municipal Police, reported the local media. According to the first reports of the authorities, around 14:00 hours on Thursday, a man carrying a backpack was walking on Adolfo Lopez Mateos Avenue in the El Triunfo neighborhood. The subject was walking suspiciously and, before reaching the corner of Felipe Ángeles street, he was stopped.

The uniformed officers noticed that the backpack was giving off foul odors. Upon checking for weapons or drugs they found a human head in a state of decomposition. The man, who said his name was Victor Ezequiel "N", 32 years old when questioned by the police, said that he took the head from the low bridge located on the Mexico-Cuautla federal highway. The officers went to the site and found a couple of polyethylene bags with the severed remains of a human body.

After securing the site, the uniformed officers notified the personnel of the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico. Forensic personnel transferred the human remains to the facilities of the Forensic Medical Service to perform the necropsy and begin the corresponding investigation. The person who transported the head was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office to define his legal status.
