Playa del Carmen has a lot to offer to its visitors and locals and, among all the activities you can do, we recommend you to visit Fundadores Park; this is a place that combines the history of the place with live music, events, and a good space that takes you to relax while you enjoy the afternoon sun or the sea breeze while the sun goes down.

It was founded in the 1950s when Playa del Carmen was just a fishing village, and this point was a meeting point for those communities that worked to give life and meaning to the city, that is why it is called Fundadores.

In this space, you can perform various activities including cultural events or the spectacle of the Papantla Flyers, and musical performances that are organized from time to time, and in December, for Christmas, one of the largest trees in the city is placed there.

Fundadores Park, besides being one of the most important historical sites of the city, is a must, since here begins the famous Quintana Avenida, a few meters away you can find a public beach, also, right here is the Portal Maya, a sculpture that identifies Playa del Carmen.

It is located at the end of Quinta Avenida or the beginning if you are in the Playacar area and Paseos del Carmen shopping mall, it is open to the public 24 hours a day, you can get there walking, by car, or by transportation.
