Hotel femicide in Puerto Vallarta is being looked into by prosecutors.

Under the femicide protocol, the Jalisco Prosecutor's Office is investigating the violent death of a woman who was gagged and bound hand and foot in a hotel in the Las Mojoneras neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta.

Around 1:30 p.m., the 911 emergency number was used to report that a woman was unconscious in a hotel on the corner of Mexico Avenue and Guerrero Street.

A State Police officer located a woman in one of the rooms who was handcuffed and gagged on the bed, lifeless.

The victim was a woman between 30 and 35 years old, wearing jeans and a salmon-colored blouse. She had multiple bruises on her body.

Investigators from the Regional Prosecutor's Office went to the scene to clear up the first lines of inquiry. They were helped by experts from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences, who gathered evidence. The victim's body was sent to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy to find out how he or she died.
