In the following season in Europe, the Champions League will have at least five Mexicans with participation in the best club tournament in the world. This number may be added to some if there are team changes or new signings from Liga MX to European football.

Mexican players in the Champions League

From the beginning, next June 25, there will be a representation of Mexico in Champions with Diego Nájera who plays in the Santa Coloma of Andorra.

The Andorran team was crowned in their league and will play the first phase, the Preliminary Round between June 25 and June 28. The draw will take place on June 11 and may face the Tre Penne, San Marino, Lincoln Reds Imps, Gibraltar or Feronikeli, Kosovo.

Diego Najera had the action in 26 games and scored 5 goals in the season that has just ended.

Marco Bueno, who signed with HJK Helsinki, the team that was crowned in Finland, will start in early 2019. From July 9 to July 17, his participation will begin.

Bueno currently has 8 games of the current season without any goals. The HJK is classified as the champion of the League in 2018, which is held between April and October every year, to avoid the winter weather.

For the Second Qualifying Round will be both Erick Gutiérrez and Hirving Lozano, the latter at the expense of a possible departure to another club. PSV was second in the Eredivisie of the Netherlands and will start its journey between the 23rd of July and the 31st of July.

In that round he will play against Istanbul Başakşehir, from Turkey; Viktoria Plzen, from the Czech Republic; LASK Linz, from Austria; Basel, Switzerland; and Olympiacos; from Greece.

The last one is Jesús Manuel Corona with Porto in the Third Qualifying Round, which is the one prior to the final playoffs for the Group Stage, which will be played between August 6 and 13 of this year.

In that round, the Dragons are next to Lyon, from France; Dynamo Kyiv, from Ukraine; Krasnodar, from Russia; and Bruges, from Belgium, waiting for the qualifiers of the Second Round.

A separate case is that of Héctor Herrera who ended his contract with Porto and there is the talk of signing with Atlético de Madrid, a club that has its direct pass to the Group Stage of the Champions League.

Similarly, it is said that Guillermo Ochoa would leave Standard Lieja to go to Porto, so he would join "Tecatito" in the Third Round, to add, perhaps, seven Mexicans in the European club tournament.
