Health Inspections Shake Up Cancun

The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) is on a mission to keep Cancun's health services up to par. In a surprising turn of events, two clinics and a blood bank have faced the wrath of Cofepris and have been temporarily shut down. Why, you ask? Sanitary irregularities, my dear reader!

Since 2022, Cofepris has been busy, closing down a total of 83 establishments across the country. These closures span a wide range of businesses, from blood banks and clinics to tattoo studios, chemical manufacturers, and food supplement providers. Their goal? Ensuring the safety and quality of health services and related products in Mexico.

And Cancun? Well, it's not alone in this health shake-up; Mexico City tops the list of closures, followed by the State of Mexico, Durango, and Quintana Roo. So, if you're in Cancun and in need of medical services, be sure to double-check that your chosen provider is up to code.

Cancun Offers Free Wi-Fi by the Sea

Paradise just got a little more connected. Cancun is offering free high-speed internet access in its tourist hotspots. Two new Wi-Fi modules have been installed, each capable of serving up to 200 devices within a 50-meter radius. So, whether you're catching rays at Playa Delfines or hitting Kilometer 0, you can now Instagram your beach selfies in real-time.
