From May 1 to October 25, Air Canada will reopen its seasonal direct route from Mexico City to Montreal, as part of its effort to provide Mexicans with more travel options during the summer season and part of the autumn, which will be operated by its subsidiary Air Canada Rouge.

The opening for the fifth consecutive year of this temporary route will pay for an exponential increase in visits by Mexicans to Canada. According to statistics from Statistics Canada, during 2018, more than 413,000 Mexicans visited Canada, representing an increase of 5.1% for 2017.

These annual actions allow a tourist exchange and Mexican-Canadian business more easily, opening to Mexicans the possibility of visiting the province of Quebec and its various regions, where they can perform summer activities such as attending the Montreal International Jazz Festival, recognized as the best festival of its kind in the world.

This seasonal route will be covered by Airbus 319-100 aircraft with a capacity for 136 passengers, offering a total offer of 19,312 seats throughout the activity period, which will reach up to a daily frequency between June 3 and September 4.

"Opening for the fifth consecutive year this seasonal route represents a great opportunity for Mexico and Air Canada, to help meet the increasing demand of Mexican travelers to the country of the maple leaf, which from 2014 to 2018 grew by more than 129% . This route will operate in conjunction with other destinations we offer as Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Huatulco, Cozumel, San Jose del Cabo, Zihuatanejo to major Canadian cities such as Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax," said Luis Noriega, director of Air Canada for Mexico, Central America and Cuba.

This flight will provide Mexican travelers the opportunity to attend various digital festivals and experiences, such as the Elektra, Chromatic, and Mutek Festival, which during May offer new creations of electronic music, live shows, interactive performances, and a great diversity of content in film, theater, games, and video.

In addition, it allows you to enjoy the tourist attractions of the city, the main monuments of the region such as the Basilica of Notre Dame, the Olympic Tower or the McCord museum or take a walk on the Monte Royal, equivalent to the Central Park of New York 190 hectares or, be the first to come to the new experience of the electronic show in PY1 pyramid, designed by the creator of Cirque Du Soleil, which will open in June, or attend the Grand Prix Formula 1 in the same month.
