Guadalajara

A city in western Mexico, Guadalajara is a popular tourist destination. Guadalajara is the capital of the Mexican state of Jalisco, and the state is famous for producing tequila and giving birth to the mariachi music genre. The colonial plazas and historic landmarks of central Guadalajara include the neoclassical Teatro Degollado and a cathedral with twin gold spires. Paintings by José Clemente Orozco, which are widely recognized for their beauty, may be found in the Palacio del Gobierno.
