Woman steals 4-month-old baby in Playa del Carmen and is arrested in Yucatan


A woman who was carrying the girl was arrested in Yucatan. The abduction occurred at noon yesterday in the municipality of Solidaridad, Playa del Carmen.

After the mother reported the disappearance of her four-month-old daughter in Playa del Carmen, the Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo in collaboration with the Ministerial, State and Federal Police managed to locate the baby with a lady in the State of Yucatan.

According to the Quinatana Roo Prosecutor's Office, the 'baby thief' was identified as Victoria 'N', which was arrested for the crime of abduction of minors and file 357/2019 was initiated.

"Thanks to the collaboration of the Attorney General of Yucatan and the timely intervention of the Federal Police, it was possible to locate the woman and the baby in Yucatan, who stole the small one from the home in the Colonia Gonzalo Guerrero in Playa del Carmen" .

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office and her legal situation will be defined within the deadlines established by law.

On the other hand, the Attorney General's Office confirmed its commitment to work in collaboration with other institutions, to safeguard the integrity of the Quintana Roo based on the guidelines established in the National Code of Criminal Procedures.
