Where to holiday in Mexico (part 2)
Cancun is a Mexican resort located on the Yucatan Peninsula, which is one of the most visited places in the Caribbean and one of the most popular in the world. Cancun has gained such incredible popularity due to its wonderful beaches with pure and white sand, as well as crystal clear turquoise water, a mild maritime climate, proximity to architectural monuments of the ancient Mayan civilization, a wide choice of entertainment, including fishing and diving. And the infrastructure here is well developed: there is an international airport, many hotels, restaurants, night clubs, a lot of shopping centers.
The beaches of the resort are crowded, so if you like quiet and secluded relaxation, choose another place. Cancun beaches stretch for twenty kilometers and are divided into two subspecies: for extreme sports and for swimming. Safe for swimming beaches belong to the northern part of the resort, there are no very high waves, as they are protected from them by the Island of Women in the Spanish pronunciation Isla Mujeres. This name came about thanks to the numerous ceramic female figures who remained there from the period of the Mayan civilization. Here, couples with children prefer to relax, there is a calm and warm sea, white sand. Tortugas Beach and Pearl Beach are very popular.
The western part of the resort is a place for extreme beaches, almost always strong and high waves, and during a storm, they reach six meters. Therefore, here you will meet only experienced swimmers, surfers, but regardless of the beach, it always has a rescue team, a medical professional.
The most beloved beach of western Cancun is Dolphin Beach. There is a minus at the resort, which is too narrow coastline, tainted by hurricanes. But there are more advantages: there are many places of interest for tours, for example, the ancient Mayan cities of Chichen Itza, Koba, Tulum, a number of cenote Dos Ojos.
Cenotes are lakes or natural wells, which are part of a cave complex that, in distant centuries, the Maya used for their religious purposes. DIvers will love to explore cenotes.
TulumCave complexes and cenotes are a great place to admire the natural beauty. It is simply amazing here: of extraordinary shape, color and size, stalactites and stalagmites, which, if desired, can be considered plunging into the water. For example, in Gran Cenote you can hire flippers and a mask, and, having paid a hundred pesos for the entrance, enjoy an amazing spectacle.
If you dream of combining the knowledge of the mysterious world of Mexican Indians with an amazing beach holiday, then you need to go to Tulum. This small town in the east of Yucatan belongs to the Riviera Maya and consists of three parts: the ruins of the ancient Mayan city; Indian Village Tulum Pueblo; tourist entertainment zone, stretching along the coast of the Caribbean for many kilometers.
By the way, hotels and beaches in Tulum are considered among the best in the country. The splendor of tropical nature, picturesque cliffs, small, as if sifted through a sieve, white sand, inviting turquoise water, amazingly beautiful underwater world, plus these are the components of a successful holiday in Mexico. The special charm of these places adds the proximity of archaeological excavations.
The name Tulum, translated from the Yucatec language means "fence" or "wall". This is understandable: the ancient city on the coast is really fenced with high, in places, reaching up to five meters, fortress walls, the thickness of which reaches eight meters. Amazing buildings, laid out of giant slabs. The ruins old town hides the picturesque ruins of ancient residential buildings, gloomy guard towers, the castle fortress. But the most prominent of the general building is the "Temple of Frescoes", designed in the form of two galleries with sculptures and frescoes, and dedicated to the "Descending God" of Maya Indians.
Manzanillo is a popular Mexican resort on the Pacific coast of Mexico. This is the oldest city in the country, which appeared on the site of an ancient Indian settlement. This place can captivate anyone at a glance: snow-white buildings against the backdrop of the bright blue sea, surrounded by majestic green hills.
Manzanillo is an industrial port, but, nevertheless, its southern part is adored by tourists for its magnificent beaches: Santiago, Escondida, Audiencia, Olas ALtas, Miramar. All resort beaches are sandy, framed by green palm trees and fragrant flowering shrubs.
In the central area of the city there is a half-kilometer sand bar stretching along the ocean, here is the beach of San-Pedrito. It is very well-groomed, and dense vegetation near the water, allows travelers to hide in the shade of the trees from the hot sun. There are always a lot of people, and even more so, weekends and holidays. What is surprising is that such a number of people does not scare a lot of birds, including pelicans, who have long been accustomed, to such a troubled neighborhood.
