Today's weather in Mexico: new severe storm risk for Northern Mexico
A new event of severe storms will occur today and tomorrow in the northern part of the country. There could be hailstorms, high winds and possible tornadoes.
For the next few hours, weather conditions in the north of the country are favorable for the formation of severe storms, while scattered storms of lesser intensity will occur in the center and west. In the northwest, wind, rain and snow are estimated.
According to meteorological predictions, the instability that will be favoring the interaction between a line of convergence over the north and center of the country, a stationary front in the south of the United States and divergence in higher levels of the troposphere; will give rise to the formation of possibly severe storms in the course of the afternoon and night in the northern zone of Coahuila and northeast of Chihuahua.
A severe storm has the characteristic of generating important hailstorms, strong winds and even generating tornadoes in its interior so it is very important to be vigilant. For the moment, the National Weather Service of the United States, determines a slight risk of severe storm formation in the areas already indicated, although it is possible that tomorrow it will be much greater.
It is important that cities such as Ciudad Acuña and Piedras Negras, as well as nearby locations, be very attentive to the warnings issued by civil protection authorities due to the possible effects of the predicted storms. The severe weather event will start from this afternoon, starting to decrease from tonight, but it is likely to occur again with much more intensity from this Wednesday afternoon.
Scattered storms in the rest of the country
Although they will not be severe, for the afternoon and night of today there could be some thunderstorms accompanied by hail, particularly in the states of Jalisco, San Luis Potosi, Guanajuato, Michoacan, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Queretaro, Puebla and Tlaxcala.
On the other hand, the arrival of the cold front number 45, will favor rains and possible snowfalls today and tomorrow over Baja California, Sonora and Chihuahua, in addition to winds that could reach or exceed 100 km / h in some areas.
