By registering a hotel occupancy rate of over 50 percent, the hotel sector and the Puerto Vallarta Public Trust for Tourism Promotion and Publicity -Fidetur- qualify the summer vacation season as "successful".

And the fact is that in the face of the Covid 19 pandemic, the sector seeks to consolidate the economic reactivation, making this city the first beach tourist destination in the country to advance in this sense, thanks to the promotion that has been given by the authorities.

According to Fidetur, this trend is expected to continue during the next vacation season. In the coming months, positive results are expected in Puerto Vallarta thanks to all the promotion actions, a proof of which is reflected during the month of September.

The Puerto Vallarta International Airport estimates an arrival of more than 1,300 frequencies thanks to the operations of 6 national airlines, such as Aeromar, Aeromexico, Magnicharters, Tar, VivaAerobus and Volaris, as well as 9 international airlines: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, Frontier Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, United Airlines and WestJet, connecting with the main cities and their respective hubs that extend the connection options through their route banks.

In this month of September, the expectation is to approach the hotel occupancy rates of 2019 (51.35%) having as a goal to exceed 45%. So far the reservation books show a positive trend having from 35% to 40% on weekdays and from 45% to 50% on weekends, remembering that the buying window nationwide is 7 days so an increase is expected in the coming days.
