The head of the Ministry of Tourism of Jalisco (Secturjal), Jesús Enrique Ramos Flores, said that during this period the number of visitors from Mexico City, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas and Michoacán grew "considerably".

Ramos Flores cited as source the digital platform to book flights, and said that based on that site, during the first half of the year, Puerto Vallarta was the destination that registered the highest growth above other beach destinations such as Cancun and Los Cabos.

"Tourism in the state of Jalisco represents practically 9% of GDP; We are talking about 8.7 percent. The amount that generates this activity is 20,000 million pesos, "said Ramos Flores.
