The use of tourist class by business travelers in Spain in 2018 reached 90% compared to other cabin options, according to a study conducted by American Express Global Business Travel (GBT), a percentage that reflects that cost optimization that was imposed on companies during the crisis has emerged as a stable trend.

The type of flight, domestic, medium-haul and long-haul, conditions the use of the tourist class, since in the case of domestic flights the tourist class has been used by 96% of the companies and 94% in European flights. However, on long-haul flights, the figure drops to 53%, due to the needs for greater comfort and rest for the long-haul traveler.
As for the way of booking flights, on a general level, the adoption 'online' in corporate travel reservations has been 38% on average, four percentage points above the online adoption registered in 2017 (34% ).
In domestic flights, companies reach an 'online' adoption rate of 40%, the same figure as in 2017, while in European flights it reaches 43%, 3% more than two years ago. On the other hand, on long-haul flights, the 'on line' booking option registers only 17%, 2% more than in 2017.
MAIN DESTINATIONS OF THE SPANISH BUSINESS TRAVELER
As for the destinations most frequented by the Spanish corporate traveler, at European level stand out, in this order, Lisbon, London, Paris, Milan and Amsterdam, without significant differences depending on the size of the company.
Intercontinental destinations, if you take into account the size of the company, medium-sized companies demand more Mexico City, New York, Dubai, Lima and Sao Paulo. As for large and multinational companies, the 5 intercontinental destinations with the highest traffic were Mexico City, New York, Riyadh, Lima and Bogotá.
