With the name of Creative Mexico. Mapping the Mexican creative industries, it was announced after a year of work in this, which was developed thanks to the cooperation of various agencies, led by the Digital Culture Center of the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico and It was attended by experts from the British Council, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Autonomous Metropolitan University-Xochimilco and the NESTA Foundation.

During the launch of the platform, it was reported that the official data of the National Statistical Directory of Economic Units (DENUE) of the INEGI was analyzed and quantitative surveys and case studies focused on a first phase of the audiovisual sector in the cities of Mexico and Monterrey.

Mariana Delgado, from the Digital Culture Center, said that for the first time in Mexico and perhaps in Latin America, a study of this type is being carried out that includes various methodologies, which is still in process. These results are the first advances that will soon be online for consultation in an interactive platform, in which interested parties can explore and consult maps for each state.

For his part, the Undersecretary of Cultural Development of the Ministry of Culture, Edgar San Juan, pointed out the relevance of this Transmedia Map, since technology has completely changed not only our lives, it has also generated new creative processes and even, Business models.

So for example, he said, YouTube, Spotify, and Netflix are new distribution channels for music and film, which require new communication strategies and a more interactive relationship with audiences. The Transmedia Map offers clear, orderly and objective information fundamental in the design of public policies of cultural development and promotion of creative economies, in order to shore up Mexico in this sector.
