The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends the consumption of strawberries for the prevention of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity because they are rich in minerals such as sodium, magnesium iron, zinc, iodine, in addition to antioxidants, vitamin C, cyanidin and chlorogenic acid. Due to their low caloric level (30 Cal/100g), strawberries are ideal for maintaining a balanced diet.

Neuroprotective qualities

According to different studies, eating strawberries prevents memory loss and the deterioration of the functions of the nervous system; this is because they are rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, and E.

Cardiovascular benefits

It is also estimated that strawberry consumption can lead to a decrease in low-density lipoproteins, popularly known as "bad cholesterol", and an increase in high-density lipoproteins, commonly referred to as the "good cholesterol" or HDL, in addition to preventing lipid oxidation.

Arthritis and Osteoarthritis

The strawberries are particularly effective in removing accumulated uric acid. It is recommended for cases of gout, hypertension, and liver problems, since they regulate these functions, in addition to cholesterol levels, due to their high fiber content.

Antithrombosis effect

In addition to its exquisite taste and the fact that it is a very versatile ingredient in gastronomy, regular consumption of strawberries prevents the accumulation of platelets or fibrin in the blood vessel, which makes the formation of clots less likely. Strawberries contain salicylic acid, anticoagulants, and anti-inflammatory.

Digestive Properties

Ingesting strawberries provides a lot of fiber (pectin) that helps regulate intestinal transit. It is an antioxidant fruit since it is very rich in vitamin C; it contains more than the orange. Anthocyanins are very important antioxidants for the body.

Strawberries are a food native to North America and the Alps; in Mexico, the producing states are Baja California, Guanajuato, and Michoacán.

Finally, scientific findings found so far suggest that eating strawberries can help reduce the risk of infections caused by bacteria such as Helicobacter pylori.
