Towards the crown of Spotify
The Spotify digital platform is positioned as the most immediate showcase for music broadcasting. Not only do the most media-friendly artists top the charts of this Swedish network which, since its launch in 2006, has also opened up the possibility for any user to share their sound proposals in a matter of seconds.
Currently, Spotify has 113 million subscribers in its different modalities of use, from those who enter the application with its basic playback services, to those with more personalized profiles -which implies a user fee- to perform more specific searches and reproductions and have more presence before the 248 million monthly users who browse the trends and pre-established lists of the platform.
Before the end of 2019, Spotify has shared the songs and artists that have had the greatest impact on users in the year and decade that is now ending, and to the surprise of many, the Spanish-language offerings are the ones that have set the trend in terms of the millions of plays that the platform has registered in the 79 countries that make up the network in different parts of the world, according to the statistics that Spotify shares on its official website.
Of the more than 50 million songs that make up Spotify's repertoire, only a few have completely captured the tastes of Internet users, making it clear that urban rhythms such as reggaeton, trap, rap, and pop are the genres that monopolize the digital crown and set the course in the preferences of the Mexican public.
