First rainy season in Mexico will affect 25 regions

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) forecast for tomorrow the start of the first rainy season in much of Mexico, with intense to torrential storms in areas of the east, south, and southeast of Mexico.

This rainy season in much of Mexico will be caused by the cold front 60, which will extend over the northern border of Mexico, and two low-pressure channels, in the center and southeast, as well as the combination with the zone of instability located in the Gulf of Tehuantepec.

There will also be gusts of wind that could exceed 60 kilometers per hour and high waves from two to four meters in Oaxaca and Chiapas, as well as heavy rains in Veracruz and Tabasco, states where landslides could be registered.

For the night of today and early morning, two low-pressure channels in the center and southeast of Mexico, as well as the cloud falls from an area of ​​instability off the coast of Oaxaca, will cause intense rains in areas of Chiapas and very strong in Oaxaca, with electrical activity.

As well as strong rainfall in Guerrero, Morelos, State of Mexico, Puebla, Veracruz and Tabasco and showers with electrical activity and gusts of wind that could exceed 60 kilometers per hour in Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas.

There is a 20 percent chance for cyclonic development in the five-day forecast and reinforces the entry of moisture and the development of rainfall in southern and southeastern Mexico.

For tomorrow, very strong punctual storms are expected in Coahuila, Nuevo León and Guerrero; strong in Puebla and Campeche; showers in Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi, Guanajuato, Michoacán, State of Mexico, Morelos, Tlaxcala, Yucatan and Quintana Roo; as well as isolated rains in Chihuahua, Zacatecas, Jalisco, Colima, Queretaro, Hidalgo and Mexico City.

In addition to gusts exceeding 60 kilometers per hour in Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi and Guanajuato, and wind with gusts exceeding 50 kilometers per hour in Chihuahua, Durango, Nayarit, Jalisco, Guerrero, Veracruz, Querétaro, Tabasco and Coasts of Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo.

Temperatures of 40 to 45 degrees Celsius are expected for areas of Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Michoacan, Guerrero, San Luis Potosi, Oaxaca, Morelos, Veracruz, Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatan; and from 35 to 40 degrees Celsius in the areas of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, Durango, Colima, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Puebla and Quintana Roo.
