The Mexican men's indoor volleyball team, in the men's category, won the championship of the Pan American Cup "Final Six" with a 3-0 victory over Canada. Mexico won the North, Central American, and Caribbean Confederation (NORCECA) cup after defeating the Canadians in three sets 25-17, 36-24, and 25-20 at the Ricardo Arias Pavilion in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

With this result, El Tri won their second title in the history of indoor volleyball in this tournament, after beating Puerto Rico in the 2007 edition. They also qualified for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago.

At the beginning of the competition, the Mexican team lost its first two matches against the United States (3-0) and Canada (3-1). Subsequently, Mexico would go on to win three consecutive matches against Suriname (3-0), Puerto Rico (3-0) and the Dominican Republic (3-2) to advance to the semifinals. In a high-powered duel, the Mexicans were able to defeat the United States with authority with 3-0 and thus advanced to the final where they defeated Canada.

"It was a tough tournament. I think the United States and Canada brought more solid teams than they brought to Durango; most of the teams are going through a transition, so it will be one surprise after another, the good thing is that the level is more equal. I am very proud of my boys, this is just the beginning and we have to keep working harder and harder," commented Jorge Azair to local media.
