Oaxaca stands out as one of the states with the highest economic growth: INEGI
The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) highlighted that Oaxaca is the third state in the country with the highest annual economic growth, from the third quarter of 2017 to the third quarter of 2018, according to the results of the Quarterly Indicator of the State Economic Activity for the July-September quarter of 2018.
According to this indicator, Oaxaca recorded a growth of 4.8%, surpassing Mexico City, including states such as Nuevo León, Yucatán and Aguascalientes in the annual rate measured by that institute.
In the second quarter of 2018, the Quarterly Indicator of State Economic Activity (ITAEE) reported an increase of 5.6%, which was caused by primary, secondary and tertiary activities.
In the third quarter of 2018, Oaxaca remained on par with its neighboring state Veracruz, in the total economy compared to other entities in our country. Oaxaca contributed 0.8 percentage points to national growth.
