The multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, Novartis, will invest 20 million dollars in Mexico, Mexican Undersecretary for Foreign Trade Luz María de la Mora announced today.
"Novartis is very interested in developing its service center in Mexico. They have an expected investment in Mexico of more than 20 million dollars (...) That investment will expand its service center that has in Mexico, its research and development and yes, will create more jobs "said the official to Notimex.
In the framework of the 49th edition of the World Economic Forum, de la Mora, noted that the "commitment" of the pharmaceutical company based in Switzerland "is to maintain its investment plan in Mexico" in the coming years.
The announcement was made after an interview by the Mexican Undersecretary of Commerce with executives of the pharmaceutical company during the Davos Forum. The pharmaceutical company has already invested 30 million dollars in Mexico.
Since last Tuesday, the opening day of the forum, she met with senior executives of multinationals from many sectors including Google, Amazon, Iberdrola, and AT & T, among others, in search of quality investments and creation of better-paid jobs, she explained.
