Mexico presents itself as a candidate for the 2021 Pan American Junior Games

Mexico is presented as one of the nations to host the first Junior Pan American Games and will seek it before Colombia and El Salvador.

"The city of Monterrey has always distinguished itself by the great development, not only of its industry and the city itself, but also by the development of the sport that is becoming stronger every day," said Carlos Padilla, president of the Olympic Committee Mexican (COM).

He indicated that the northern city has first class infrastructure to host the first competition of the category, "we are prepared, we will do what is necessary to make the corresponding decisions."

Padilla Becerra explained that the other two official candidate cities, such as Cali in Colombia and Santa Ana in El Salvador, also have good conditions to be part of this project.

The Chilean Neven Ilic, president of Panam Sports, formerly Pan American Sports Organization, expressed his approval for having three candidates for the first sporting event for young athletes in America.

"There are three cities in countries with a lot of prestige and tradition in sports. I firmly believe, as I have always said, that this is going to be an emblematic project for the development of sports in America, "he said.

The final decision will be made by all the members of the Executive Committee of Panam Sports in San Jose, Costa Rica, at the end of March. The Junior Pan American Games are focused on athletes whose ages fluctuate between 18 and 21 years.
