Adventure tourism is an option that appeals to new generations, because it represents an experience of physical liberation and leisure, either individually or with friends, by combining culture, nature, and fun. In Mexico, the option of adventure travel has great attractions, thanks to the natural biodiversity it has, its great variety of ecosystems, and places with activities for all types of sports or other alternatives.

Some of the places include Ciudad Valles in San Luis Potosí, a site known as "the gateway to the Huasteca Potosina", where you can practice water sports in the rivers Micos, Tampaón, and Santa María, as well as canyoning, rappel, rafting, and a kayak. While in Monterey is the Matacanes Canyon, a place where you can practice hiking, swimming, diving, among others; or visit the  Laguna Bacalar in Chetumal, a destination that allows diving, snorkeling, or kayaking; as well as hiking and cycling.

In Jalcomulco, Veracruz: known as "the capital of rafting", you can take advantage of the rapids and rivers with light and moderate currents, in case you are not an expert. Another option could be the Barrancas del Cobre-Creel, in the heart of the Sierra Tarahumara, where you can feel the excitement of getting on the longest cable car in Mexico or a circuit called Llama Ferrata, which includes rock climbing, rappelling, and free jump. Other places are also Valle de Bravo, in the State of Mexico, Orizaba, in Veracruz, and Sian Ka'an, in Quintana Roo.

Copper Canyon, Creel

This imposing landscape of Chihuahua, in the heart of the Sierra Tarahumara, is the ideal place to feel that you fly and try the Ziprider, a zip-line style; the longest cable car in Mexico or a circuit called Via Ferrata that includes rock climbing, abseiling and free jumping. As if this were not enough, you should not miss the experience of traveling in El Chepe and witnessing the imposing mountain landscapes.

Valle de Bravo, State of Mexico

This destination combines adventure, tradition, and peaceful places that complement the experience. The obligatory activities are the sailboat and boat rides, climbing the Cerro de la Cruz and daring to launch in paragliding, mountain biking, hiking, witnessing the Velo de Novia waterfall, and practicing jet surfing.

Jalcomulco, Veracruz

"The capital of rafting", an exciting activity in which you descend from large rivers on a raft, with light and moderate currents, in the company of a team and an instructor that will take you through natural landscapes.

Laguna Bacalar, Chetumal

A destination that you can enjoy from the beach or in the mountains; practicing scuba diving, snorkeling, and kayaking in the lagoon of the 7 colors, or you can go hiking and mountain bike tours. It does not matter which of these destinations was the one that attracted your attention, you can all reach through different means of transport with a wide variety of prices.

Puerto Morelos, the best adventure destination in Mexico

Puerto Morelos has 18 ecotourism parks located along the Ruta de los Cenotes, which in addition to offering direct contact with nature allows visitors to experience unimaginable adventures. Puerto Morelos has cenotes of all kinds in the area with crystal clear waters that invite you to immerse yourself in its mysticism, ecological reserves such as Toh, which allow you to practice bird watching, or Toolok Ka'an, which is a wildlife sanctuary. Going into the jungle on a quad bike or riding a horse, or slipping into one of the zip lines, are part of the attractions.

In the port area, tourists can see the largest reef barrier in the continent and the second-largest in the world, located just opposite the 18 kilometers of the coast of Puerto Morelos, where service providers offer snorkeling trips in the area. As part of the adventure is diving on the reef and the sunken ship in 2000, which came to life and has a great variety of species. A place that is obligatory to visit for those who love adventure and nature is the Dr. Alfredo Barrera Marin botanical garden since here you will be able to learn about the flora and fauna that inhabit the Yucatan peninsula, in an area of 60 hectares that make it the largest in the country.
