Vive Mezcal, the first international forum of the mezcal industry
To think of Oaxaca is to refer us to a fascinating historical and cultural universe full of archaeology, beaches, gastronomy and of course, its mezcal, which over the years has conquered national and international palates and markets. In the state, the Mezcal Regulatory Council has more than 800 producers and 700 brands.
For this reason, the government of Oaxaca, through the Ministry of Economy, created Vive Mezcal, the first international business forum of the agave-mezcal production chain, through which the world will be shown the traditions, culture, and innovation surrounding this spirit drink.
The forum, which will be held from September 12 to 14, will bring together all actors in this industry, from the producer to the final consumer, helping to organize, develop, promote, protect and give value to the entire chain. International speakers, business meetings and cultural, artistic and gastronomic activities will also be held.
Vive Mezcal will be held at the Oaxaca Cultural and Convention Center. It is expected to receive more than 12,000 attendees, including businessmen, distributors, and consumers from Mexico, the United States, Europe, and other Latin American countries. There will be an exhibition area with more than 300 brands and 150 guest producers.
In addition to the keynote lectures, there will be workshops, certifications, business meetings and networking, an investment pitch, tastings, various cultural activities, and tourism. Within the framework of Vive Mezcal, the 2nd National Agave-Mezcal Congress will also be held on September 12 and 13.
The event is free and open to the public. However, some activities require prior registration for scheduling issues. Check the program of activities and to speed up your access, register in advance at the official site of Vive Mezcal 2019.
