New Mazatlan flight route from Canada and Tijuana
From the first week of June, the Viva Aerobús airline will operate the new Mazatlán flight route to Tijuana.
"Foreign and domestic air connectivity continues to strengthen in Mazatlan, but there is still a lot to do in this area," said José Gámez Valle.
The member of the Marketing Committee of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies of Mazatlan explained that the Mazatlán flight route from Calgary, Canada, which operates for the winter season, will stay throughout the year.
He revealed that this winter season there was an increase in aircraft seats from the United States and Canada of 30%, compared to the previous year.
The main growth came from Canada, and the good news is that a Calgary flight is maintained throughout the year, new routes are being searched for next year with Swoop, which was the first time it operated this year, it is an airline of lower cost than Westjet.
Gámez Valle confirmed that from the first week of June, the airline Viva Aerobús will start the Mazatlan flight route to and from Tijuana.
Viva Aerobus flight starts operations on June 8, with two round flights a week, with tickets starting from 948 pesos in a single trip.
"With this flight, more than 38,000 seats will be made available to passengers in the first year of operation, which means that the airline connects passengers from point to point through the latest generation Airbus A320 aircraft, which make up Mexico's youngest fleet with the most competitive prices in the market."
The member of the Marketing Committee said that Mazatlan flight routes lack more domestic flights, and a strategic one would be from Bajio airport to Mazatlan.
"We have insisted on this, the issue has been addressed with Volaris and Viva Aerobús, if that flight is specified it is a very important feeder, Mazatlan has a lot of presence now, there are many people coming from the Bajío area".
