Civil Police of the Brazilian Federal District has announced the results of the investigation of the murder of Rhuan Maycon, a nine-year-old boy who was stabbed, dismembered and beheaded on May 31 in Samambaia by his mother and stepmother.

According to the police report, after the child fell asleep, his mother, Rosa Auri da Silva Cândido, 27, gave him a dozen stabs while her partner, Kacyla Priscilla, held him down. Later, Rosana decapitated the minor, even with signs of life.

The two women wanted to burn the child's body parts on a grill so that the skin would come off the bones and the victim would not be identified. However, they did not burn them completely and placed them in two school backpacks and a travel suitcase, which the mother tried to hide in a sewer system.

The two women were arrested on June 1 and can be sentenced to 57 years in prison each for aggravated murder with torture and "very serious bodily injury", as investigators have confirmed that the defendants had mutilated the penis and the testicles of the child more than a year ago, allegedly for "revenge against the father and grandparents of the child."

Previously, Claudia Regina Carvalho, of the Federal District Tutelary Council, told the Brazilian agency UOL that the castration was, in reality, "a kind of sex change surgery", since, "after removing the penis, they sewed the mutilated region and improvised a version of a female genital organ, making a cut in the groin."

The police believe that the murder was motivated by an exacerbated religious fanaticism and a "deep hatred of the child" because it represented the emotional part of the mother.
