Guadalajara will host the Jalisco Festival of Aquatic Activities
As part of the preparation of the athletes for different competitions, the Jalisco Festival of Aquatic Activities 2019 will take place from February 28 to March 31.
The general director of the CODE Jalisco, Fernando Ortega Ramos, presented the event that will take place at the Metropolitan Aquatic Complex, where water polo, swimming, diving, artistic swimming and adapted sports events will be held, as well as an aquathlon.
"We are here to present one of the most important strategies for the repositioning of the Metropolitan Aquatic Complex, seeking to recover the possibility of attracting national and international events in the future."
The sports complex is one of the best facilities in the country, so they will seek to reposition it as the venue for world-class events, in addition to permanently monitoring its functional status.
"It is true that we lost some events that had already been assigned as headquarters, but we are sure that we will soon have the opportunity to host high-quality events."
During next March the competitions will be carried out that foresee internal activities of sports schools, national events and, in water polo, the participation of international teams. The diving coach, Iván Bautista, was satisfied with the realization of the event, as it will allow them to train for world-class competitions, such as the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
"In dives, we intend to go for one to three Olympic medals in Tokyo and this type of strategy allows us to continue working with all the intensity required to achieve it."
Finally, the diver Germán Sánchez said that the project is positive, because besides benefiting the athletes, "it encourages and develops the new generations, we want people to come, know and enjoy this, which are water sports".
