Personnel from the National Migration Institute (INM) detected the presence of two foreigners who could not prove their legal stay in Mexico, so they got out of the unit in which they were traveling to board the van of said agency to be transferred to Cancun.

It was through a vehicle checkpoint that was set up on the Tulum-Playa del Carmen highway, that they verified the documentation of foreign visitors who were traveling aboard public transportation in both tourist destinations of the Riviera Maya in Quintana Roo.

A woman of French origin and a man from Italy could not prove their legal stay in the State, it was reported that each one was detected in a different vehicle, so they were not traveling together; they did not have any document to prove their visit or residence in the State.

The foreigners detained in Tulum were taken to a unit of the National Migration Institute to be taken to the Cancun Migration Station to resolve their legal situation.
