In hotels, the province has increased by 5.4 percent the number of travelers and 7.4 percent the number of overnight stays compared to the same period of the previous year. The figures in rural tourism are also better.
Guadalajara is the third most dynamic province in the country in hotel occupancy
The provincial director of Economy, Business and Employment, Santiago Baeza, has evaluated the latest data published by the INE related to the tourism sector, which make the province of Guadalajara the third most dynamic in the country in hotel occupancy.
"We have a province with a huge cultural, artistic, natural and ethnographic heritage and through the Tourism Strategic Plan of Castilla-La Mancha we are trying to make all this wealth known and recognized," he said.
Thus, in terms of hotel occupancy (travelers and overnight stays in hotels, hostels and pensions), the data for the month of November indicate an increase of 7.7 percent in the number of passengers compared to November 2017 and an increase of 9.9 percent in the overnight stays made by those travelers. This rate of growth is located in both parameters more than three points above the national average.
In the accumulated of the year, between January and November of 2018, the province of Guadalajara has increased by 5.4 percent the number of travelers and 7.4 percent the number of overnight stays in relation to the same period of the previous year, some figures that make our province the third most dynamic in the country.
Santiago Baeza stressed that the positive data on hotel occupancy are also endorsed by a continued increase in rural tourism, something that has even more value if we take into account that last year "was a really good year in tourism figures" . Thus, in the month of November, the province of Guadalajara experienced an increase of 28.5 percent in travelers staying in rural establishments, a figure that is more than five points above the national average. Overnight stays of these travelers were 23.5 percent more than in the same month of 2017.
