For the first time in 20 years, the peso adds 9 weeks with gains
Since Lopez Obrador came to the presidency, the Mexican peso maintains a good run.
In this last week of the week, the peso ended with an advance of 0.59 per cent or 11.2 cents, to quote around 18.98 pesos per dollars, after which at the end of the session there was a general weakening of the dollar.
According to Banco Base, this is the first time since March and April 1999 when the peso has managed to sustain gains for 9 consecutive weeks.
In banks, the US currency was sold up to 19.41 pesos, as is the case of Bancomer. Meanwhile, Citibanamex made them at 19.30 and Banorte offered it at 19.20 pesos.
The Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) closed this Friday with a slight gain of 0.17 per cent, after the Mexican market added four consecutive days in a negative way.
In definitive closing figures, the main stock indicator, the S & P / BMV IPC, stood at 43 thousand 638.62 units, with an increase of 72.51 points compared to the previous level.
In the week of January 21 to 25 the BMV reported four consecutive losses and only rose in the day today, a period in which a volume of 914.7 million titles was operated, for an economic amount of 32 thousand 103.7 million pesos.
