The beautiful landscapes of the Sierra del Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve formed the scene for the film "El Jardín" by the Mexican director, Christian Cavazos. The locations were also made in the vicinity of the Gulf of Santa Clara, which is where the desert ends and begins the Upper Gulf of California Biosphere Reserve and the Colorado River Delta.

Part of the filming was recorded at the former passenger bus stop and La Joyita restaurant, located at kilometer 75 of the Sonoyta-San Luis Rio Colorado highway. The actors agreed that the natural panoramas that Northwestern Sonora gives are impressive and give the perfect touch to the ribbon of love and the American dream that tells the story.

The actress, Alexia Alexander, said that what she likes most about her job is to travel and, above all, to enjoy this type of landscape like the one in Sonora. In the desert, the place was observed approximately 130 people involved in the filming of the film, produced and directed by Mexicans, which they hope to put on the big screen in 2021.

The works were made between the sand, the Pinacate mountain range, and the eternal Sonorense sun, elements that according to the filmmakers, will give the film special magic. As part of the setting, a simulation of the metal wall that divides the border between Mexico and the United States was placed, a stretch of a few meters and located to the south of where the real fence is located.

The municipal director of Tourism, Rebecca Ching Hurtado, said that all film projects are welcome to take advantage of the natural sites of the region. Also, he was invited to contribute to the care of the environment and the conservation of protected areas, as is the case of the two ecological reserves settled in this municipality.

According to information from the City of San Luis Río Colorado, at all times care was taken that the environment of the region was not affected by the presence of those who are engaged in the film industry.
