Events for the month of February in Mazatlan

An extraordinary opportunity to enjoy art, tango, wine festival and plastic exhibitions at the Art Museum of Mazatlan

The Sinaloan Institute of Culture, through its Southern Delegation and the Art Museum of Mazatlan, by Cecilia Sánchez Duarte, announced the agenda for the month of February that will feature various activities.

On this occasion they will begin the activities of the month on Friday, February 1 with the 'Milonga', the teacher Dalila García informed that she will offer a tango show, having as a dance partner the also tango player Fernando Bermúdez.

Milonga is the place where you will dance the tango in the lounge or on the dance floor, as it is originally called. Tango fans gather in this tango music scene, where men sit on one side of the dance floor or hall, and women on the other, in order to make the nod to the woman with whom you want to dance, without the need to cross the track, thus avoiding the penalty of being rejected; the woman answers with a nod yes or no.

The program continues with Danza Contemporánea, which will present two pieces by Diego Alcalá & Plataforma UV.

The first piece that will be shared is the BORN research work, where Diego delves into a timeline that includes childhood-adolescence, based on the complexity of the "I" as a means of construction, towards a self-concept derived from self-esteem and passion.

In the second, UV Platform with the choreographic piece Raza-ka, where the communion of four beings are recognized as a biological, cultural, social and sexual origin, expanding their sensitivity to temporary spaces of pleasure, where they open a channel between the earthly and the divine, the finite and the infinite.

For Friday, February 15 and Saturday, February 16, the "Wine of the Northwest Festival 2019" is scheduled, whose objective is to spread and promote the wine culture in Mazatlan; shared Justo Molachino.

In this great event will participate in various wine cellars of the country, and each will have a stand, which will expose and give to taste their products to the public.

Among the wineries present will be Ancient Spreads, Vineyards of the Queen, Baron Balche, Tragaldabas, vineyards of Slovenia, to name a few. There will also be a sample of cheeses, tastings, and sale of products at the price of the winery.

During the Festival there will also be talks, conferences and wine and amateur contests, in which they will learn how to hold a glass, what are the tears, the basics of wine tasting, the strips of wine and part of the history of each country Regarding the world of wine.

Within the activities of the month of February in the Museum of Art, the pictorial exhibition of Lloyd Goldstein is contemplated in the gallery, Carlos Bueno.

Likewise, the inauguration of the plastic exhibition of the artist Maximiliano Grego will take place at the Antonio López Sáenz Gallery. This exhibition is a collective of national artists with varied techniques.

Friday, February 8: Contemporary Dance 'Raza-Ka' with Diego Alcalá at the Pérez Rubio Gallery, at 7:00 p.m.

Friday 15 and Saturday 16 February: Festival del Vino del Noroeste Festival 2019 by Justo Molachino, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Art Museum of Mazatlan.

Thursday, February 21 to March 17: Exhibition Lloyd Goldstein, at 7:00 p.m., in the Sala Carlos Bueno.

Thursday 21 February to 14 April: Plastic exhibition of Maximiliano Grego, at 7:00 p.m. in the Antonio López Sáenz Gallery of the Art Museum.


From February 4 to 7, films related to Wine will be screened. The appointment is at Casa Hass, at 6 o'clock in the afternoon. The films that will be exhibited are 'The Vineyard that unites us', 'The Way of Wine', 'Between Cups' and 'The War of Wine'.
