"We are proud to continue expanding our presence in Mexico," said Vicky Uzal, commercial manager of American. "This flight will be key to boost the economy and tourism to Durango, and at the same time offer our customers in Durango multiple connection options through Dallas / Fort Worth, from where they will have access to more than 900 daily flights to more than 200 destinations in the United States and around the world."

"The state of Durango stands out for its strategic geographic location, for its vast wealth of natural resources and economic activities, making it a key destination for the airline," added Uzal.

Today, American offers service to more destinations in Mexico than in any other country outside the United States.

Currently, American is the leading US airline in Mexico, operating up to 629 weekly flights between Mexico and the United States, from its 21 destinations in the country (very soon 22 with the arrival of DGO) to its hubs in Charlotte, Carolina North (CLT), Chicago (ORD), DFW, Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), Philadelphia (PHL) and Phoenix (PHX), as well as the city of Boston.

The presentation of this new route was attended by Eleazar Gamboa, secretary of Tourism of Durango and Elvira Silerio, undersecretary of promotion of the Ministry of Tourism; among other authorities, travel agencies and special guests of the company.
