The list of Chile players for the Copa América

After many speculations, many doubts, and some surprises, the roster of the Chilean national team that will participate in the Copa América 2019 was presented today.

The main novelty that the selection made by the Colombian trainer Reinaldo Rueda, was the incorporation of Eduardo Vargas, forward of the Tigers of Mexico, who had been in the shadows, after some indisciplines, but that is a strong scorer.

The presence of Yerko Urra, local goalkeeper, also drew the attention of the specialists, while Claudio Bravo and Marcelo Díaz were not considered, although they have their important participation in the conquest of the titles in 2015 and 2016.

The local press notes that Rueda opted for 'the hardcore' with which he has been working for more than a year and appear the stars Alexis Sanchez, Gary Medel, and Arturo Vidal, plus others who were making themselves noticed on the fly.

Among the latter mentioned Nicolás Castillo, Diego Valdés and Guillermo Maripán.

In the Copa América, which will be held in Brazil from June 14 to July 7, La Roja will debut on June 17 against Japan and four days later it will face Ecuador and close its participation against Uruguay on the 21st.

Defenses: Mauricio Isla, Gonzalo Jara, Guillermo Maripán, Igor Lichnovsky, Óscar Opazo, Jean Beausejour and Paulo Díaz.

Flyers: Esteban Pavez, Erick Pulgar, Arturo Vidal, Charles Aránguiz, Pedro Pablo Hernández, Gary Medel, Diego Valdés and José Pedro Fuenzalida.

Strikers: Ángelo Sagal, Nicolás Castillo, Alexis Sánchez, Junior Fernández and Eduardo Vargas.
