Celebrate the goodness of the pig in the Chinese New Year 2019

Because of its spectacular color, the Chinese New Year is one of the most recognized festivities in the world, and in Mexico City, the busy district of Eastern origin is ready to celebrate the Pig of Earth.

Each year of the Chinese lunar calendar is represented with an animal, and this 2019 is the year of the Land Pig, and according to this calendar, if you were born in 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019 and 2031, you belong to this Chinese zodiac sign.

In Chinatown, shops have already decorated to welcome the public. The place sells all kinds of products, from food to amulets to attract good luck or fortune.

The restaurants begin to welcome domestic and foreign tourists with the most succulent dishes of Chinese cuisine, which features ancestral dishes of recognized flavor and variety, which have made food an emblem of that culture.

The Chinatown of Mexico City has its origin in the 60s of the last century and is located very close to the Alameda Central, where Chinese immigrants lived, also Koreans, Indonesians, and Filipinos who are part of this neighborhood.

Another activity that attracts the greatest public is the dance of the dragon and the Chinese lion, which is a tradition deployed to give luck to the year that begins, but which has won the taste of the public that sees these two great figures dance along the corridor of the Capital Chinatown.
