Camagüey interested in Mexican tourism
Cuba is looking for Mexican tourism to the east of the island, a destination where they do not currently receive this market despite the fact that both countries share much in common.
The airline Viva Aerobus is the first to fly to this point, who inaugurated his first flight on January 22, will travel twice a week to transfer more than 740 tourists from the Mexican Caribbean, and from there show the different options that have the site of which can make microcircuits.
Yunesky Canteli González, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) in Camagüey, mentioned that currently represents the Mexican market 5% (49 tourists) of visitors who arrive to the east of the island that has points to show as they are Holguín, Santiago de Cuba, Gran Ma, and Camagüey, to name a few.
"For us, the Mexican tourism that will arrive will be an advance to show the different products that make up this part that is nature, city, cultural heritage and sun and beach," he explained.
The East of Cuba has beauties to show and for this they bet on air connectivity to this point, so that not only visit Havana or Varadero, where two Mexican airlines already arrive.
Currently, in Camagüey they receive about 840 tourists being the main market Canada, followed by France, Germany, and Russia, who get to know the history of the site although it has beaches, museums and entertainment centers, in addition to the heat of its inhabitants.
There are at least 19 lodging centers with 7,250 rooms shared between Santa Lucia, which is one of the destinations of Sun and Beach; in the city there are 533 rooms for different pockets, therefore they have different brands that are All Inclusive and European plan, in addition to the line of Charming hotels that are luxury.
