The Mexican flagship airline announced during the celebration of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), which took place at the end of January in the city of Madrid, the launch of a new route between Mexico City and Barcelona that will enter into activity from June 15.
Aeroméxico will connect Barcelona and Mexico City from June
Specifically, flights between Barcelona and Mexico City will have three weekly frequencies. With the launch of this new route with the Ciudad Condal, Aeroméxico adds its fifth destination in the European continent, being the only airline in Mexico to operate between both cities.
In addition, the airline has reported the extension throughout the current year of the frequencies maintained with Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport, with a total of 18 weekly flights, and Paris-Charles de Gaulle, with up to 11 weekly flights. In total, the airline will increase its flights to both destinations by up to 22%.
The increase in operations to Madrid and Paris is due to the high demand experienced in both routes during the past 2018, where the number of passengers transported to the Spanish and French capitals grew by 17% and 10%, respectively, with respect to the last year.
